Rescue Animals Need Your Help!
Five bucks can make all the difference for an animal in need. Before you start your weekend, won't you please consider making a donation to support Humane Society Humane Officers? It's easy, just click here!
Every day the Humane Society of Ventura County receives calls from concerned citizens about animals in need. As the headquarters of Ventura County Humane Officers, these tips help Officers protect and serve the counties most vulnerable creatures. Many times these calls lead to exposing serious cases of abuse and neglect or an innocent animal that has fallen through the cracks. However, often times the Officers receive direct calls from a citizen requesting their help.
Such was the case last Friday when Officer Vail and Winwood received a call from a family who had four Akitas that they could not care for. The Akitas, ranging in age from three months to four years, while in good health, lacked the proper environment for them to thrive and the family signed the dogs over to the Officers in the field. Once at the shelter, the Officers continue to work one-on-one with the animals they rescue including socialization, training, and supervising their transition into any new home or rescue.
Officers work closely with local authorities throughout the county to ensure our community is safer for the animals. This public service is provided without monetary support from the city, county, or state. Our Humane Officers ability to serve is directly linked to the support they receive from people like you. Please make a donation today and help us reach our goal to eliminate all animal suffering in Ventura County!
