Help Us Celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Day!

Wednesday, February 17th, 2021, is National Random Acts of Kindness Day! Each year, individuals, groups, and organizations celebrate this day to spread joy and positivity nationwide. Whether it’s paying it forward at the coffee shop or sending thank you notes to essential workers, there are infinite ways you can help spread kindness within your community!

National Random Acts of Kindness day is part of a movement that inspires people every day to do good. But this movement is not limited to just humans! Our four-legged friends, especially those in shelters, can benefit greatly from a random act of kindness. Even the smallest donation can make a difference in the life of an animal in need.

The HSVC is always in need of blankets, towels, and unopened bags and cans of dog or cat food to care for the animals we house. Donated pet food also helps stock our Pet Food Bank, which provides free pet food to low-income pet owners in our community. Those interested in making an in-kind donation can do so by bringing items directly to the shelter, located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, or donate through our Amazon Wishlist.

We also ask you to consider making a monetary donation to our shelter. As a private nonprofit, the HSVC relies entirely on the generosity of our supporters to continue providing services to those in need. Your contribution provides shelter, compassionate care, adoption services, and much more to the animals at our shelter. To make a donation, please visit our website. Spread kindness today, and every day!
