HSVC's revamped Paws for People Pet Therapy Program has officially launched! Our first certified pet therapy pair, Bruce and his handsome Golden Retriever Mellow, visited patients at Neuro Restorative in Oxnard last week and were a huge hit! HSVC staff Arlene MacSween and Judy Robertson accompanied the duo to help spread joy. This will be the first of many visits to local care facilities for Bruce and Mellow, and we are so excited to have them on board!

The staff at Neuro Restorative were just as excited as the patients to meet Mellow! The 2-year-old pup exceeded our expectations as a first-time therapy dog while interacting with everyone at the facility. Mellow's gentle, easy-going personality and training with Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) made him the perfect candidate for our program.
