Pet of the Week - Winnie

Say hello to 6-year-old Winnie! Winnie is a spayed red Labrador Retriever mix who loves people. She has been a resident of the HSVC since mid January. While Winnie is not currently available for adoption due to COVID-19, she will be available for a forever home as soon as the shelter reopens to the public.

Winnie was surrendered to the Humane Society due to her preference for being the only animal in the house. This pretty girl enjoys going for walks and would benefit from leash training. She can be playful and seems to be fond of toys. Winnie is also a fantastic listener and knows most basic commands (sit, stay, lay down). She loves lounging out in the sun and rolling around in the grass.

At 6-years-old, Winnie qualifies as a "senior" dog, which means her adoption fee is only $75. Included with every dog adoption will be the first DHPP shot of the series (if age allows), a rabies vaccine (if age allows), a wellness check good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, implanting an identification microchip (registration extra), spay or neuter surgery, if necessary, as well as a collar, ID tag, and a leash.

The HSVC is currently closed to the public due to circumstances related to COVID-19. While Winnie is available, we are not currently performing adoptions during this time for the safety of our staff and the community. If you are interested in visiting Winnie after the shelter reopens, please contact the shelter at 805-646-6505 for more information. For updated service information, visit our website at hsvc.org.
