Pet of the Week - Atlas

Meet Atlas! This adorable smooth-coated Chihuahua mix is happy, friendly, and looking for his forever home! Five-year-old Atlas was brought to the shelter with several other small dogs as a result of a dog hoarding case in Santa Barbara County. Despite the situation he came from, Atlas is a very affectionate boy who loves attention and lap-cuddling.

Handsome Atlas was one of 104 dogs rescued from a dog hoarding house in Lompoc, CA in mid-October. He was transferred to the Santa Maria Animal Shelter for safety before being transported to our shelter in Ojai. Upon arrival at the HSVC, he was given the name Atlas due to the unique white arrow markings on the back of his head. This energetic boy loves to play and is not afraid to tell you when he wants more attention. He would make a great addition to any home.

The HSVC is performing adoption by appointment only at this time. If you are interested in Atlas, please visit our website and click the orange "Let's Get Started" button to fill out an adoption appointment request. Once submitted, our adoption counselors will get back to you within 48 hours.

Atlas is considered a "senior" dog because of his age, making his adoption fee only $75! Included with every dog adoption will be the first DHPP shot of the series (if age allows), a rabies vaccine (if age allows), wellness check good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, implanting an identification microchip (registration extra), spay or neuter surgery, if necessary, as well as a collar, ID tag, and a leash.
