The Painted Cabernet in The Collection in Oxnard recently hosted a fundraising event benefiting the Humane Society of Ventura County. Participants were given painting lessons and all the materials necessary to paint their version of a scrappy white dog.

A glass of wine or a non-alcoholic beverage is also provided. Some of the artists chose to paint a depiction of their own dogs, some of which were adopted from the HSVC. A portion of the registration fee was donated to the HSVC for their on-going efforts of providing services to the animals and their caretakers throughout Ventura County. Special thanks to Julie and Nick, owners of The Painted Cabernet for approaching the HSVC regarding their charitable endeavors and to Kate and Chelsey for providing the painting lessons and good will.
