After spending 328 days waiting at the shelter, Ozzie's is starting off 2026 with so much love! Now affectionately known as Biscuit, this sweet 5-year-old pup has found his forever home with James, Nitaña, and their daughter. We can't think of a pup more deserving of this happy ending!

Ozzie first arrived at the Humane Society of Ventura County after being surrendered by his previous owners. While his stay was longer than most, he quickly became a favorite among staff and volunteers for his gentle nature, kind eyes, and easygoing personality. He met each day with patience and quiet optimism, always ready to greet visitors and hoping that his happily ever after would come.

That moment arrived when James and his family came to the shelter. With guidance from HSVC Animal Care Associate Walt, the family was introduced to Ozzie, and their connection was instant. What started as a simple visit turned into a meaningful match, and soon Ozzie was heading home!

"We just adore Biscuit! It’s hard to believe he was at the shelter for almost a year! He’s such an amazing dog! Thank you to Walt for listening to what we were looking for in a dog and matching us well. We think HSVC is awesome for all they do! Thank you for taking care of these fur babies and giving them another chance at having a happy home life and loving family. Biscuit is just a joy, and we’re so grateful he’s ours, and we are his humans," Nitaña shared.

Now Biscuit is enjoying all the simple joys of home life, cozy naps, family time, and learning what it means to belong. His story is a beautiful reminder that every dog's path is different, but with patience, care, and compassion, it can lead to a truly special connection.
