Join us April 19th at 6pm for an open board meeting.

Along with welcoming a New Year comes the exciting launch of our state of the art Kennel Project.  With all the positive potential forthcoming in 2017, it’s a fitting time to announce our fresh, new motto…

Humane Society of Ventura County

A Compassionate Care Shelter

We…Respect Them, Protect Them

We were inspired to create a motto that was an accurate, progressive representation of who we are and what services we provide to our communities:

Low cost pet adoptions

•Low cost spay and neuter

•Low cost vaccinations

•Pet Assisted Therapy

•Humane Education programs

•Pet Boutique

•Foster Program

•Assist with Breed Rescue

•Assist with wildlife rescues

•Animal Protection from the only Humane Officers in the County

•Reuniting lost pets with their families

In accordance with California law, we also offer a means to respectfully cease an animal’s suffering, exemplifying the ultimate definition of Humane.  How appropriate that synonymous with the term Humane are the words kind, gentle, caring, humanitarian, benevolent, and compassionate.  It’s very simply all that we represent.

It is our hope that shelters across California and the nation choose to “adopt” our inspirational slogan.  Together, through education, generosity, and action, we can collectively achieve a higher level of awareness for Animal Welfare.   We are grateful for your ongoing support which truly makes all of our efforts possible.

We are offering the opportunity for you to learn more about us and our upcoming exciting projects.  Bring your questions to our April 19th Board meeting, where we will start with an open Q&A forum.  The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at the Shelter.
