Open Board Meeting - October 18th

We are pleased to announce this fall’s Open Board Meeting will be held at the shelter on Wednesday, October 18th at 6 pm. The meeting will be held in front of the Harry Valentine Visitor Center. We are looking forward to meeting with our donors, volunteers, and both old and new friends of the shelter.

We conduct two open board meetings each year to provide an opportunity for the public to learn more about the shelter and meet our Board of Directors. Many of our staff will be present to answer any questions you may have. This is a good time to learn more about the different functions and services the shelter offers and how you can help!

So many people ask us on a regular basis if we receive funding from organizations such as the Humane Society of the United States or ASPCA. The answer is no, we do not receive any funding from national animal welfare agencies or any State, County or City entities. As a private, non-profit, 501c3 organization, we receive our funds from the generosity of our donors, public donations, bequests, and grants.

If you have any questions about our upcoming Open Board Meeting please feel free to call the shelter at 805-646-6505. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all on October 18th!
