Oliver Bird Celebrates His 35th Birthday!

Thank you to all who joined us at the shelter to celebrate Oliver Bird's 35th birthday! It was a celebration fit for a king, just like Oliver!

Oliver Bird was surrendered to the HSVC back in 1992 at just 5-years-old. With his outgoing personality and killer dance moves, Oliver quickly captured the hearts of our staff and visitors. He has been the official mascot of the HSVC for 30 years now!

So many people stopped by the shelter to wish Oliver a happy birthday! He loved the attention and was happy to put on a show for his fans.

Oliver was gifted so many wonderful presents for his big day! Thank you to all who thoughtfully brought gifts and joined in to sing Oliver his favorite "Happy Birthday" song.

Above: Oliver Bird is a good boy and allows a friend to pet him. Please do not attempt this without a staff member! Oliver is very friendly, but he likes to give love bites!

Lastly, we want to give a shoutout to Sharon for making Oliver a personal-sized birthday cake made with bird-friendly ingredients. It was delicious, and Sharon even made a larger cake to share with his friends at the shelter! Thank you, Sharon, and happy birthday, Oliver! We love you!
