Ojai Valley School Supports HSVC
Thank you to the lower campus students of Ojai Valley School for their generous donation to the Humane Society of Ventura County. After hearing of our recent cat burglary, the students rallied to put on a bake sale with all proceeds going to the HSVC.
The students of Ojai Valley School have been volunteering every week at the Humane Society of Ventura County. When news broke of the recent break-in to our cat area in early December, the students were devastated and felt compelled to help. Three students came up with the idea to put on a bake sale to raise money and help the HSVC repair the damage. Lily, Valentina, and Liv lead the charge in organizing the sale and gathering donated baked goods from their school community. Everyone contributed various goodies as well as their time to work the bake sale. The students raised a total of $258.01 to donate to our organization.
The group of students along with their teachers, Ashlee and John, came by the shelter today to present our Director of Community Outreach, Greg Cooper, with their very generous donation. When asked what inspired them to help, the students had this to say, "This helped us become a part of something bigger. We've been wanting to help out in our community and this seemed like a great way". The students also wanted to thank everyone that helped and contributed to their cause.
Thank you again to the students of Ojai Valley School. Keep up the great work!
