Congratulations, Officer Viacava!
The Humane Society of Ventura County is thrilled to officially introduce Officer Kaelyn Viacava! She was officially sworn in on November 20th at the Ventura County Courthouse and ceremoniously badged at the shelter later that day. Officer Viacava's friends, family, and fellow HSVC staff were in attendance as Humane Investigations Director Kendra King presented her with her badge. Congratulations, Officer Viacava, on this career milestone!

Kaelyn joined the HSVC team in February 2024 as a Humane Officer Trainee. With extensive experience in the animal field as well as in human mental health, she quickly proved herself to be an asset to the Investigations department and our shelter. Officer Viacava is now one of three, soon to be four, Humane Officers employed by the HSVC. The dedicated team serves all of Ventura County investigating cases of animal abuse, neglect, and cruelty. We are incredible proud of Kaelyn and the rest of the Investigations Team for all they do to protect animals in need.
As a freshly badged officer, Officer Viacava's first order of business was to badge her daughter, Autumn, and her friends as official Junior Humane Officers. What a full-circle moment for all!
