A VERY special thank you to Robert and Candice Garcia and the entire staff and crew at RMC Construction and Roofing for patching the leaks on our kennel roof right in time for the rains! Not only did they save the shelter several thousand dollars but their gift will help keep our dogs safe and warm during these (hopefully) rainy months!

Junior is a shy and goofy male, buff Domestic Shorthair. He is about 8 months old, and he has been at the HSVC since Sep 10, 2014. Junior gets along well with other cats and kittens! He likes people but is quite shy. He likes playing with toys, which is a great way to make him feel more comfortable! Come meet Mr. Junior today!

Parvo is a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs, and of course puppies are the most susceptible to the disease. Please take extra precaution if you have recently acquired a young dog. Please keep unvaccinated dogs out of public places until they have received all of their shots, spaces such as parks and sidewalks can be heavily contaminated. Parvo is a very resilient virus and can survive months if not years in the soil and even cement. 

Don't forget to get your walnuts for the holidays! These delicious walnuts were donated by Black Mountain Ranch in Upper Ojai. We are selling them for $1.50 a bag or 4 bags for $5 (each bag weighs a little more then a pound). Makes a great gift or compliment to your holiday party!

Handsome is a 50 pound sweetheart! He is a boxer mix who is around 8 years old. Handsome loves to be around people. He knows quite a few commands and is improving every day on his leash manners. He is house trained and is just as happy-go-lucky as can be!
