The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
We are thrilled to announce that a $25,000 grant from the GlobalGiving Foundation was recently given to the Humane Society of Ventura County. These funds were used for the purchase of an all-important new horse stock trailer.
Just look at that smile! Handsome Jack is just two weeks shy of being being cleared for adoption after a successful recovery from surgery on a torn ACL. Some of our biggest supporters are also our youngest. Just in time for back to school, we are giving away free piggy banks while supplies last!

Dear friends, earlier this month we kicked off two campaigns to help cover the cost of extensive surgeries for 2 dogs in our care, Mimi and Dodger. Since that time both dogs have had successful surgeries and are already in the process of recovering here at the shelter and in a foster home. The two surgeries combined have cost the shelter $7,238.65, and with the support of our community we have already raised $1,606 of this amount.
This year the Humane Society of Ventura County has been nominated for 3 categories in this years Best of the Ojai Valley put together by the Ojai Valley News. The HSVC is honored to have been nominated for Best Customer Service, Best Pet Food and Supply, and Best Nonprofit!
