The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
Easter Sunday is this weekend and many people are looking forward to spending some quality time with family. Some families have little ones that are excited to go hunting for Easter eggs and maybe even receive some gifts!
Rosie, a beautiful tortie, was abandoned at the shelter all the way back in October. On sunny days you can find Rosie laying around in our outdoor adult cat room where she lives with up to 15 other cats at any one time!
Congratulations to sweet Foxy who gave birth to seven beautiful puppies on March 26th! Foxy was brought to the shelter as a stray not long ago. It was clear that she was full term pregnant and not long after her arrival she gave birth to 5 girls and 2 boys.
The Humane Society of Ventura County is pleased to welcome Greg A. Cooper to the team! Cooper began his relationship with the HSVC in 1990 while working as a photographer for the Ojai Valley News. Since then, Cooper has worked as a volunteer photographer for the shelter documenting their animals, staff, facilities and fundraising events such as the annual Santa Paws.
Rocco is one sweet little man! This 2 year old Chihuahua mix has been at the shelter since February 21st and has won the hearts of staff and volunteers.
