MORNING UPDATE 11/01 9:44 am

Good morning friends. It has been a long night for the people and animals of Ventura County. We estimate that between 100-120 animals were brought to the Shelter throughout the night as a result of the Maria Fire. We are working on getting a full report together, including a full assessment of our needs to share with all of you later in the morning.

In the meantime, we remain OPEN to all who need a safe refuge for their animals.

While the staff takes care of the evacuee animals, our availability to manage our regular services are temporarily put on hold. If possible, we ask you to help us keep our phone lines available for emergencies only. Please feel free to contact us on social media throughout the day, and we will do our best to help you in any way we can.

For those wishing to support our efforts, please visit our website at Thank you all for your encouraging words and stay tuned for further updates.

The Humane Society of Ventura County is located at 402 Bryant Street in Ojai. 805-646-6505.
