We have great news on our sweet Mela! Last Wednesday Mela was checked into VetSurg in Ventura to have a necessary surgery on her hip. Her surgery, which was funded by our supporters, was a huge success!

Mela has been a real champ and even though weak from surgery she acclimated into her new surroundings and foster family without a hitch! She will be kept in a low key environment for 10-12 days and then therapy on her hip will begin. Mela has already made huge progress and is expected to have a full recovery. 

In the next few weeks Mela will be ready for adoption. This incredibly sweet girl will need to continue to take it easy and a mid range active family will be ideal. Mela does good with other dogs but the herding dog in her does get her excited when she sees cats. She loves being around people and loves to walk by your side or curl up on the couch for cuddles.
