Louise, formerly Mary Lou, was adopted from the HSVC in February of 2020. Then 3-years-old, the adorable Chihuahua mix quickly caught the eye of her future pawrents, Matthew and Sophia. Though it took some time, we are thrilled to report Louise is now fully adjusted and living happily ever after in her forever home!

According to Matthew, Louise had a difficult time adjusting to her new life when she was first brought home. "She struggled setting into a routine and moving from being a dog on the streets. She really needed socialization, but the pandemic shutdown hit 3 weeks after we adopted her. But after a lot of work with behavior modifications, she's adjusted quite nicely!" said Matthew.

Over a year and a half later, Louise is now a happy, energetic ball of energy and who loves to run. She even ran a virtual 1000K last summer (pictured above right).
