Two-year-old Louie was one of the many Chihuahua mixes brought to the shelter as part of a dog hoarding case in Santa Barbara County. Upon arrival at the HSVC, our staff quickly learned Louie had a very affectionate personality. He loved to cuddle and was friendly with anyone he encountered. It was those qualities that made his new mama, Ruby, fall in love with the handsome Chihuahua and decide to bring him home!

According to Ruby, Louie had no trouble adjusting to his new surroundings. "He didn't have any accidents and has been going potty outside. He is very friendly with our neighbors and their dogs," said Ruby. 

Due to the situation he came from, Louie was not used to walking on a leash. However, with patience and practice, Louie now walks perfectly on leash and even carries his own poop bags! What a good boy!
