Lea and Will Reunited

The Humane Society of Ventura County celebrated Lea’s return home today after her year-long stay at the Shelter in Ojai.

Will, Lea’s owner, had his property destroyed during the Woolsey Fire in 2018. Lea was evacuated to the HSVC for safekeeping. During the 2017 Thomas Fire, 2018 Hill and Woolsey Fires and last year’s Easy and Maria Fires, the Humane Society of Ventura County opened up their Shelter for evacuated animals. The HSVC celebrates the reunion or adoption of any animal who can go to their forever home. As a nonprofit animal shelter, the HSVC relies solely on the financial support of individual donors, community partners and planned giving. Offering emergency relief services is enormously expensive for the Shelter but we pledge to do so at no cost to the families. Congratulations Lea and Will and happy trails from the HSVC.
