Kittens! Kittens! Kittens!

If you have visited the shelter recently you may have noticed our kitten room being a bit sparse. This time of year we get in tons of kittens but they are not available for their forever homes until they are 8-10 weeks old.

Well, for all you patient folks we have good news! Our older kittens were moved in to the adult cat room today to get prepared for moving all the young kittens into the kitten room starting tomorrow! It will take a few days to get them all in there but you can start planning your visit today!

Don't forget that June is Adopt-A-Cat month! Every year for Adopt-A-Cat Month we have a “two for one” special on ALL our cats and kittens. We find that when you have two cats/kittens they play together instead of having one kitten that will need to play with your nose in the middle of the night. Having more than one cat gives them the opportunity to “be cats” by socializing and playing with each other; this means they are less likely to be destructive or engage in other problematic behavior.
We have lots of cats who are already bonded pairs, either they came to the shelter together or buddied up in the cat room. (If you ever do find yourself having to move having two adult cats that are familiar with each other eases the stress of the move!)

Our adult cat room is currently very close to capacity and soon our kittens will be old enough for adoption as well! Please help us find these loving felines their forever homes.

You can view all of our available cats on our website:http://www.hsvc.org/adoptable_pets or call the shelter at 805-646-6505 for more information on our adoption process.
