Cats and kittens require exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction. By bringing home two cats you are helping to provide these necessities through companionship.  Having more than one gives them the opportunity to “be cats” by socializing and playing with each other; this means they are less likely to be destructive or engage in other problematic behavior. 

Here at the Humane Society of Ventura County we already have cats who are bonded pairs-either they came to the shelter together or buddied up while in the cat room. Two such cats are Tom and Jerry who are pictured above. These two brothers were surrendered to the shelter on April 25th and have transitioned nicely to the cat room. These 3 year old orange Tabby cats will make a lovely addition to any family! Besides being extremely handsome they are also very sociable.
