Jazzy is Happy, Healthy, and Officially Available for Adoption!

Jazzy is officially available for adoption! She has fully recovered from her surgery and is healthier than ever after spending five days at Dr. April Armstrong’s lab facility to be treated for an infection in her uterus. Thank you Dr. Armstrong!

Jasmine, Jazzy for short, came to the shelter in mid-May after Humane Officers responded to a call regarding a skinny horse on a property in Ventura County. Officer King met with the owner who decided it was in the horse’s best interest to be signed over to the HSVC to find a new home.

A Thoroughbred mare, Jazzy is very strong willed and is going to need an equally strong owner. This sassy girl has some behavior issues that will need to be worked on. Jazzy is halter broke, but she still needs a lot of groundwork to learn respect for her handler. The staff is confident she will make a great horse for the right owner who is willing to put in the time to train her properly.

If you think you are a good match for Jazzy, please visit our website at hsvc.org/adopt and click the orange “Let’s Get Started” button to fill out an adoption appointment request to meet her!
