Humane Society of Ventura County Open to Storm Evacuees
Starting Tuesday, March 20, 2018, the Humane Society of Ventura County will start accepting animals from families under evacuation orders with the pending winter storm.
We will accept domesticated animals (cats, dogs, birds, etc.) and livestock such as horses, goats, etc. In preparation for needed space for livestock, the HSVC staff started setting up individual corrals in the back part of our property. During the Thomas Fire, the HSVC shelter property in Ojai served as an evacuation center for over 300 animals from those families impacted by the fire. Please call the front desk at 805-646-6505 to schedule a time for drop off or in case you have any questions.
