HSVC Makes an Appearance in National News!
The Humane Society of Ventura County was recently featured nationally on Fox News! The article sheds light on the national Veterinarian shortage affecting the animal welfare industry. HSVC's Director of Veterinarian Services, Dr. Christina Sisk, and Executive Director, Eric Knight, are featured speaking on the matter. Thank you to Sunny Tsai and her team for choosing our shelter as the location for the broadcast and for bringing awareness to this important issue!

This story is perfectly timed as we celebrated World Veterinary Day, an animal welfare industry holiday recognized nationally on Saturday, April 27th. HSVC is lucky to have not one, but two Veterinarians on staff serving both our shelter animals and the public's pets. Dr. Christina Sisk (left) and Dr. Melodie Degen (right) work together at our onsite Spay/Neuter Clinic each week performing low-cost spay/neuter surgery, administering vaccinations, and more. They spearhead our feral cat TNR program, host remote low-cost vaccination clinics for the community, and work hand-in-hand with our HSVC Cares programs to get pet owners the resources they need. We would not be able to accomplish our mission of bettering the lives of animals in Ventura County without them!
