Jack is officially available for adoption! Thank you to everyone who has made this day possible, it has definitely been a community effort. All the hard work, donations, and dedicated staff and volunteers involved in his well-being has paid off big time! However our work is not done until Jack is placed into a loving home that can meet his needs.
During the past few months we have had lots of time to get to know this great dog and are confident that his perfect new home is out there. Jack, who is a 4 year old Great Pyrenees mix, first arrived at the shelter back in March with a skin condition and torn ACL that would require extensive surgery. We put a call out to our supporters, and our community raised the funds to cover his surgery in record time. Post-surgery, Jack had a lengthy period of rest and rehabilitation that was successfully overseen by our Kennel Manage Angela Hanline. Staff and volunteers went above and beyond to make sure that Jack was comfortable and stimulated during this time with outstanding results.
Jack is a very big boy and will need a comfortable home willing to make him part of the family. Jack is very friendly and takes easily to both men and women. Jack has a very strong desire to be around people and a home where he will have lots of company is essential. Jack walks great on a leash and is easy to handle, and will need a good sized, securely fenced in yard. He loves getting tummy rubs and does not seem to mind being around other animals. We encourage anyone interested in meeting this great dog to stop by the shelter and have a staff member introduce you. Our friendly and dedicated staff will be able to answer any questions and concerns about Jack in order to match him with the perfect family!
