Help Feed Rescue Horses!
Last Friday, Humane Officers, seized two horses in the field and brought them to their headquarters at the Humane Society of Ventura County for safekeeping.
The two new horses in their care brings the total number of horses at the local, non-profit facility, to 7. The cost of caring for the horses is high, and it is estimated that the daily cost to the shelter for the horses alone can reach over $100 a day. This amount includes their feed, water, farrier & veterinary services, and the staff necessary to give them the proper care.
Having the ability to house and rehabilitate neglected and abused horses is just one of the things that makes the Humane Society of Ventura County so unique. At the moment five of the seven horses at the shelters 4.4 acre facility in Ojai are available for adoption and the shelter is committed to the best possible outcome for both the horses and potential families. We encourage anyone interested in learning more about the horses to contact the shelter for more information. In the meantime won't you please consider making a small donation to help cover the high cost of caring for horses in need? Every penny counts!
