HSVC Welcomes Guinea Pigs!

The HSVC is excited to welcome four adorable guinea pigs! These cuties were transferred to our Shelter from our friends at BUNS, an extension program of Santa Barbara Animal Services (SBAS). After seeing their plea via CalAnimals, Senior Humane Officer King reached out to SBAS Community Outreach Coordinator, Michelle Maltun, to offer assistance with their overflow of guinea pigs.

A transfer was then coordinated with Kendra of BUNS to drop off the guinea pigs. According to Kendra, BUNS currently has 40 guinea pigs and 75 rabbits in their program available for adoption. If you are interested in adopting one of their animals, schedule an appointment by calling (805) 681-5285 or stop by SBAS during their open adoption hours on Saturdays from 12-4 pm. BUNS also has walk-in hours every day of the week from 2-4 pm. They are located on the SBAS campus at 5473 Overpass Road in Santa Barbara.

If you are interested in adopting one of the four guinea pigs now at the HSVC, stop by the Shelter to meet them! Daniel (pictured) and his furry friends are patiently waiting for their furever homes! We are located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai and we are open Monday - Saturday from 10 am - 5 pm.
