After 5 months at the Humane Society of Ventura County, Shelly the tortoise has been returned to her owners! Shelly was brought to the Shelter on November 30th after she was evacuated from her home as a result of the Woolsey Fire and subsequent heavy rains that hit Malibu causing a series of mudslides.
Shelly spent the nights and chilly winter and spring days in our isolation area and when the sun came out, so would she to the delight of our visitors. Shelly's family has been working to restore her previous enclosure and last week came to the Shelter to take her home for good. Shelly's family sent us a few photos of her return home, and we are pretty sure that is a big grin on her face. Good luck Shelly!
