Glen the Goat Goes Home!
Our shelter has seen all kinds of animals come through our doors, and every so often, one captures our hearts in a truly unforgettable way. Such is the case with Glen, a charismatic young goat with a story that’s as wild as it is heartwarming! Glen came to us via our friends at Pasadena Humane, who rescued him under heartbreaking circumstances. Their staff found him tied to a freeway underpass shortly after the wildfires in Los Angeles broke out. Despite the chaos around him, Glen’s spirit was unshaken. He appeared grateful to be rescued, but mostly he was just happy to have new friends! The social goat was then transported to our shelter to find a new home.
HSVC staff fell in love with the sweet goat immediately upon his arrival at the shelter. Nameless at the time, our team dubbed him Glen Buckingham and his living space "Buckingham's Palace". Before his arrival, our staff learned that Glen had previously been living as an apartment goat—yes, you read that right! While that life might sound quirky and cute, it’s far from ideal for an affectionate and active animal like Glen. It quickly became clear to our team that Glen needed more than just a roof over his head—he needed companionship with others and a safe space to thrive.
It didn't take long for Glen to dazzle us with his personality. The 1 to 2 year old goat was incredibly friendly, affectionate, and not afraid to voice his opinions, especially around snack time. In fact, Glen was such a favorite around here that we gave him his very own collar and ID tag! Shelter staff also fashioned him some colorful accessories to wear on his horns to keep him and those who interacted with him safe.
After a couple of weeks at the shelter, we’re thrilled to share that Glen has officially found his forever home! He’s now living his best life on a spacious property surrounded by a variety of animals, giving him the social circle he’s always deserved. With plenty of room to roam, friends to play with, and humans who adore him, Glen is finally right where he belongs. Thank you to his new family for giving him the life he deserves, to our shelter staff for caring for him during his stay at HSVC, and to Pasadena Humane for going above and beyond to rescue him safely!
