The rise of COVID-19 brought many challenges in 2020, forcing our shelter to close its doors to the public in March. We had to adapt a new way of operating to keep our staff, our animals, and the public safe while continuing to offer services to those in need. Like many others, our shelter was not immune to the financial hardships brought on by COVID-19. While we were able to continue providing vital services to Ventura County, our funding has significantly decreased since the start of the pandemic. This GivingTuesday, we ask you to consider making a donation to the Humane Society of Ventura County so we can continue providing protection and care to animals in need.
GivingTuesday is a global day of generosity that takes place on the first Tuesday of December each year. This year, GivingTuesday will fall on December 1st, making it the perfect way to kick off our holiday giving season. As a private nonprofit, the HSVC does not receive any outside funding from the government or other national animal welfare organizations. We rely 100% on the generosity of our donors, community partners, and volunteers to continue providing our services to those in need.
We invite our supporters to participate in this global movement by making a donation to our shelter to help improve the lives of animals in Ventura County. Your donations provide shelter, medical care, spay and neuter, adoptions, and much more for the animals entrusted in our care. Your contribution will also help fund our Humane Education programs, Humane Officer investigations, and disaster relief programs. Help us help those in need!
The HSVC would also like to thank Jackson Williams for his fantastic contribution to our GivingTuesday campaign! Jackson, an Eagle Scout with Troop 504, chose to create a public service announcement video benefitting the HSVC for his Eagle Scout project this year. We appreciate your hard work and dedication to helping animals in need, Jackson!
