Long-Term Case Pups Ready for A Fresh Start

Update (2/6/25): Charlie, Precious, Bear, and Precia have been adopted!

After nearly two years at the shelter, we are ecstatic to share that Charlie, Bear, Prescia, Precious, and Jasmine are FINALLY available for adoption! The five pint-sized pups have been under protective custody as part of an active humane investigation since March 2023. Thank you to all our staff who diligently cared for these animals during their stay at the shelter. This happy ending wouldn't have been possible without you!

We are thrilled that these small but mighty pups now have the opportunity to find the loving families they deserve. Keep reading to learn more about each of these sweet, now adoptable furry friends!

Above from left to right: 4-year-old Jasmine, 2-year-old Bear (ADOPTED 2/6/25), and 3-year-old Precious (ADOPTED 2/3/25)

Jasmine: Four-year-old Jasmine is a little dog with a big personality! Full of charm and confidence, she lights up every room and is always thrilled to see her people. She’d love nothing more than to explore the neighborhood on sniff-filled adventures, taking in all the sights and smells. With her endless charisma and happy energy, Jasmine is sure to steal your heart!

Bear (Adopted 2/6/25): Despite this pretty girl's name, Bear tends to be more shy than fierce when first meeting new friends. However, give her a moment to get comfortable, and she’ll be your most loyal shadow! Once she warms up, this energetic sweetheart loves to jump into your lap for cuddles and cover you in kisses. Always ready for fun, 2-year-old Bear is looking for a loving home where she can run, play, and stick by your side forever.

Precious (Adopted 2/3/25): True to her name, 3-year-old Precious is a sweetheart through and through. A loving mama to Precia, this pint-sized pup is incredibly affectionate and always ready for snuggles. She enjoys playing with other dogs but would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can feel safe and loved.

The smallest of the bunch, Precia, was already scooped up by HSVC's own Customer Care Specialist, Karren (pictured left), and the senior of the group, Charlie, is goinghome with HSVC Volunteer Jane (pictured right) and fellow HSVC Alums Master Splinter and Muddy. Both Karren and Jane immediately fell in love with the spunky dogs upon arrival at the shelter. They have been patiently waiting in hopes of bringing them home ever since, and we're thrilled that the day has finally come!

Those interested in adding one of these furry friends to their family can stop by the HSVC, located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, to meet them. Visiting hours are between 10 am and 4:30 pm, Monday through Saturday. We recommend moving slowly when interacting with these doggos, as they are still getting used to meeting new friends. But with time and a little patience, we know they will bring joy to a loving family in need!
