Over the past week, we have received many inquiries from folks wanting to foster a pet displaced from the ongoing wildfires. We appreciate our community's willingness to help! However, while we were actively ready to accept evacuated animals, only three horses arrived at the shelter seeking refuge and four cats that were transferred from Pasadena Humane Society. We're happy to report the equines have been returned to their homes safely. But that doesn't mean you can't still help a shelter animal in need!
Animals arrive at HSVC in an array of ways and often require special attention and vigilant care until they’re ready for adoption. Some animals are too young, fragile, scared, or otherwise struggle to adapt to life in a shelter. Others have been patiently waiting for their forever homes for far too long and would love to take a break from the shelter life. Despite the obstacles, our dedicated team of Foster Caregivers navigates difficult challenges and supports HSVC by serving, protecting, and ultimately saving precious lives.
You can make a difference in the lives of these animals by joining our Foster team! Check out our Foster page to learn more about how you can become a foster pawrent, and submit a foster inquiry form if you are interested! Our Foster Coordinator, Cheney, will get back to you within 2-3 business days after form submission. For additional questions, please email [email protected].
