An excessive heat warning has been issued throughout southern California with temperatures expecting to reach upwards of 115 in parts of Ventura County.

Do not leave pets (or people) in enclosed vehicles, even for a short period of time. Temperatures inside vehicles, even if the windows are partially open, can quickly rise to life-threatening levels. The safest thing you can do is leave your pets at home in a cool area indoors with plenty of water.
