Evacuee Dog Needs A Home

Bagel, a ten year old Dachshund mix whose family lost their home in the recent tragedies in southern California, needs your help! This sweet dog was originally brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County as an evacuee and after months in our care his family made the very difficult decision to sign him over to us in the hopes of finding him a loving home.

Here at the shelter we take our responsibility to the animals in our care very seriously and finding loving homes that fit their needs is a priority. This is where you come in! Bagel is eager to meet his new family and has high hopes that they will find him soon. From what we have observed, Bagel enjoys the company of both men and women. He is quite energetic and can be very playful with both humans and other dogs, making him the ideal pet for a variety of homes.

We know that Bagel's perfect new home is out there, a family willing to give this affectionate senior a place to call his own. Of the 321 animals that were brought to the Humane Society of Ventura County during the Thomas Fire and its aftermath, all but 25 have been returned to their families. We hope that with your continued support we will not only be able to find Bagel the perfect home but to continue to care for those who find themselves in shelters through no fault of their own.

By donating to the HSVC, you'll be part of a community of people who are making a positive impact on the lives of animals in need in Ventura County.
