In May 2022, the Board of Directors appointed Eric Knight as Executive Director of the Humane Society of Ventura County. Eric came to the shelter with seven years of experience as a leader and nonprofit professional in Ventura County, having raised over $10 million for regional and national nonprofits. Knight came to the shelter with purpose, to work with staff and volunteers to eliminate animal suffering through onsite care and offsite investigations and to prevent animal suffering through robust education initiatives for children and adults. A lifelong pet owner, Eric is dedicated to creating the conditions necessary for the Humane Society of Ventura County to thrive and make the biggest impact possible.
