It has been a very good week for rescue horses at The Humane Society of Ventura County! Yesterday morning, 25 year old Dylan was adopted by Ruth to be a pasture buddy with two other senior horses on a lovely property with rolling hills and a stunning view of the countryside.

Dylan was brought to the HSVC in February of 2017 in extremely poor health. With the commitment of our Humane Officers, kennel staff, and the help of Dr. Granstedt DVM, Dylan was up to a healthy weight and cleared by the vet this past November. It wasn’t long before a kind woman named Ruth, who has a soft spot for elderly horses, came to visit him and put in an application. This past Friday, Dylan loaded up into the trailer like a champ, ready to start his new life with his new friends!
