Compassion in Action: Transforming Lives this Giving Tuesday

At HSVC, we see acts of kindness every day—moments where love and care transform lives, both human and animal. This Giving Tuesday, you can help us turn those acts of compassion into action. This global day of giving is our opportunity to amplify that compassion and bring hope to animals who need it most.

What Does Compassion Look Like?

Imagine the wagging tail of a dog who’s found their forever home after months in the shelter. Picture the wide eyes of a kitten feeling a gentle touch for the first time. Compassion is the animal care staff who places blankets, toys, and more in a kennel to make a shelter pet feel loved. It's the Humane Officer who removes an animal from an abusive or neglectful situation so it can find a new, loving forever home. It's the volunteer who spends hours comforting a scared rescue pet, the young donor who raises money with a lemonade stand, and the adopter who sees potential where others see problems.

These moments of compassion are what drive us. This Giving Tuesday, we’re asking for your support to create more of these stories.

Your Compassion in Action:

Every year, thousands of animals come through our doors. Some are abandoned, others are lost, and many have endured neglect or abuse. They arrive frightened and in need of medical care, nourishment, and love. With your help, we provide:

  • Warm beds and nutritious meals
  • Medical treatments, from vaccines to emergency surgeries
  • Enrichment activities to heal emotional wounds
  • Adoption programs to match pets with loving families

Last year alone, your generosity helped us rescue and rehome over 500 animals. But the need continues to grow, and we need your help to provide our vital services to the people and animals of our community.
