We are thrilled to share that nearly 100 animals found their forever homes during our Clear the Shelters adoption promotion! This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Clear The Shelters adoption movement. To celebrate this milestone, Greater Good Charities, NBCUniversal Local, a division of NBCUniversal, and Hill’s Pet Nutrition partnered with shelters and rescues across the country to promote a month-long event from August 10th to September 10th. HSVC offered $50 adoptions for all available dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens during this time. We also hosted not one, but two fee-waived days on August 17th and August 31st. Over 30 animals found their homes for free on these days and we couldn't be happier for them. Thank you to all who supported our efforts to Clear The Shelters, and thank you to all who donated in support of HSVC!

Clear The Shelters is a national campaign that encourages people to adopt from their local shelters in an effort to “clear the shelters.” The campaign receives national and local coverage and over 1,000,000 animals have been adopted from shelters and rescues since the movement was founded in 2015. Our staff were over the moon to be participating once again this year. "Clear the shelters is a great opportunity not only for the animals but also for the shelter itself. The exposure HSVC gets from participating in the movement generates awareness nationwide, which results in more furry friends finding homes! We are honored to be a part of such a life-changing movement!" said HSVC Animal Care Manager Grace Lenthe. 

While many pets found their homes during Clear The Shelters, we still have lots of furry friends patiently waiting to be so lucky.
