Our shelter animals sure know how to throw a paw-ty! With shelter tours, sweet treats, and more, it was an afternoon of fun for all! We want to give a special shoutout to our friends at 100.7KHAY for keeping the paw-ty going with music and free ticket giveaways. Thank you to all who visited the HSVC this weekend to help us celebrate the official birthday of our animal residents!

We had so much fun at this year's free community event! Party-goers enjoyed cupcakes from Sugar Lab Bake Shop, henna tattoos courtesy of MoonWave Henna, and art from Ojai local Renn D'Angelo. Our friends from the Ventura chapter of the National Charity League manned our wheel of fun offering free prizes to all. Thank you to our supporters who brought birthday gifts for our furry friends! Even shelter animals deserve to feel special on their birthday, and we couldn't have done it without you!

It was all hands on deck with our staff sharing information about all things HSVC. Animal lovers got the chance to meet our available pets during staff-led tours of the shelter. Our animals especially loved the tours, as they were given treats out of their treat buckets from each group that visited!

The cherry on top of an already furrtastic afternoon was a visit from our friend Mr. Softee! The popular ice cream truck ventured to the shelter to finish off paw-ty festivities with free treats. Staff and attendees were all smiles as they devoured their nostalgic desserts. Even senior shelter dog Everest enjoyed a pup cup on her birthday!

We are grateful to our community for coming out and supporting HSVC and our shelter animals. Same time, same place next year!
