Help Reduce Animal Over Population In Our Community!

Since the opening of a new spay and neuter clinic in 2012 the Humane Society of Ventura County has offered spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs to the community at a reduced rate. Each low cost surgery is made possible by your generosity, people like you, who care about improving the lives of at-risk animals throughout the area and beyond. Since the programs inception, thousands of animals and their families have benefitted, working to create a sustainable pet population.

Animal overpopulation is a everyday reality that impacts the lives of tens of thousands of animals each year right here in our own county, nationwide that number rises into the millions. Visit any shelter and you will find them filled with animals with no home to call their own and not enough people visiting their local shelters to adopt. Here at the Humane Society of Ventura County we believe the most effective and humane way to currently deal with pet overpopulation is through spay and neuter. Our clinic not only takes care of altering the animals in our care but also assisting with many low cost options for the public. With the capacity to handle upwards of 120 animals a month, the clinic plays an essential role in animal welfare issues.

It is our hope to one day be able to offer free or reduced spay and neuter options to anyone who may be experiencing financial hardship, but we need your help. Please consider making a donation to our spay and neuter clinic and help ease the stress of pet overpopulation throughout our community!
