Week One of Animal Adventure Camp was a Success!

Week one of HSVC's Animal Adventure Camp was a success! Campers aged 8-12 got to visit the shelter and learn all about nature, animals, and what we do at the HSVC. What a fun experience!

Each day of the in-person outdoor camp focused on different educational elements. Campers learned about the great outdoors through nature interactions, various crafts, and other outdoor activities. They also learned about animal habitats and care with special appearances from our shelter animals and staff. Senior Humane Officer King treated the group to a presentation about horse care and how to recognize signs of abuse and neglect (above). They were even able to each take a turn brushing one of our shelter horses!

"I am so excited to have the opportunity to host an in-person camp this year. While it was still limited for COVID safety, the campers and I made the most of it and had a blast!" said Humane Educator Angie Sagliani.

Weeks 2, 3, and 4 of Animal Adventure Camp are already full, but there are other ways to participate in our Humane Education program! Those wishing to donate in support of our education efforts can visit our website and donate to help fund future education events. Supporters may also visit our Amazon Wishlist to purchase items used in educational camps, classes, and presentations. Thank you for your support!
