Adopt-a-Cat Month - Just 4 days Left!
June is Adopt-a-Cat month and there is just four days left on discounted adoption fees for all cats and kittens! If you are considering adopting a cat into your family, look no further. The Humane Society of Ventura County has cats of all backgrounds waiting for the purr-fect home.
Whether a first time cat guardian or a seasoned cat companion, there are many reasons to choose to adopt your next feline friend from a shelter. When you adopt from a shelter you are not only giving a homeless animal a second chance but you are also helping make room for other cats in need. Many people believe that animals in shelters may somehow be inferior or damaged. However, most animals end up in shelters and rescues through no fault of their own. This month we hope to break the stigma and set the record straight on the many wonderful reasons to adopt a shelter cat!
Adopting any animal is a big commitment and it’s important to find an animal whose needs you can meet. Shelter staff will be able to provide you with information on an animals background, health, and personality, to be able to match you with the perfect companion. Shelter staff is committed to finding forever homes for the animals in their care, which means you can rest assured that you are receiving the most accurate information to make an informed decision.
When you adopt from the Humane Society of Ventura County you can expect to receive not only excellent customer service but all the necessary tools to get you and your new companion off on the right foot. Your new cat will spayed or neutered, up to date on their shots, tested for Leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus (if age allows), rabies vaccine (if age allows), a medical exam good for up to three days from participating veterinarians, deworming, implanting an identification microchip (registration extra), as well as a safety collar, ID tag, and cardboard carrier.
We encourage everyone interested in adopting to stop by the shelter for a visit. Our cats and kittens live in one of two catteries where guests can spend one-on-one time with the cats to find their perfect match. As an extra perk, for the entire month of June, all adoption fees for adults cats and kittens are only $60!
