Summer Fun at the Humane Society of Ventura County

By Franki Williams

Animal Adventure Camp, held at the Humane Society of Ventura County, is off to a fun and rewarding start.  Campers, ages 9 – 13 years old, are getting experience with learning about dog behavior and working with Officer Tracy Vail on how to walk a dog on a leash, and training a dog to sit and stay.  Christina Malleck, our equine expert, is teaching campers about the anatomy of a horse, and each camper gets to brush and pet the horses. Socializing with the dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens is a favorite activity for our campers and helps the animals too!
