The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
This little angel is Opal. Opal was brought to us as a stray with her buddy Pearl on February 16th. We estimate that Opal is about 14 years old, she is a black (and gray) Chihuahua, and she is quite lively!
Coming soon to Lake Casitas! The first annual Dog Jog will be a fun event for people who love animals and want to support our local Humane Society.
Toby is a handsome male, white and black Chihuahua - Smooth Coated. He is about 7 years old, and he has been at the HSVC since Jan 27, 2015. Toby is very sweet and he loves treats and company!

Mr. Whiskers is a handsome male, gray and white Domestic Shorthair. He is about 4 years old, and he has been at the HSVC since Feb 06, 2015. Mr. Whiskers is not your average cat! Although he is an indoor cat, he is harness trained and likes going for walks just like a dog!
HSVC has offered a $500 reward for the ARREST & CONVICTION of the person or persons responsible for the death and abandonment of two Pit Bulls left in an Dogloo dog house on the side of a road in Santa Paula. Both dogs were severely emaciated and had been starved to death. The Humane Society of the United States (no affiliation) has now offered an additional $5000 reward. HAPPY VALENTINES DAY FROM OKEY & SWEET PEA! Meet Okey and Sweet Pea! They are a wonderful bonded pair that would love a home and a family! They have been at the HSVC since September 22, 2014. Sweet Pea is a darling female Chihuahua and is about 9 years old and Okey is a sweet male, tan and white Chihuahua who is about 8 years old.
