The Humane Society of Ventura County is a compassionate care shelter and non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and adoption of animals in need throughout Ventura County.
You may have heard that in 2017 we are set to see a surge in ticks and tick related illnesses nationwide. While the threat of Lyme diseases is commonly associated with ticks on the east coast, it’s important to be aware that there are many different types of ticks and diseases that can be passed to dogs, cats, and humans right here in California.

This dedicated group were here early this morning to help get the grounds ready for our 85th Birthday Bash & Open House next Saturday. Happy National Donut Day from the sweetest cat around! Little Violet was brought to the HSVC as a stray with two other kittens when they were only weeks old. Violet has grown up at the shelter and is ready to start an adventure all her own! Don't forget that June is Adopt-A-Cat month and all cat and kitten adoptions are only $60!
