$5 Friday - Help Us Provide Emergency Care for Animals in Need!

As a compassionate care shelter, the HSVC is dedicated to the health, safety, and wellness of all animals. This mission extends beyond our shelter walls to cases of animal abuse and neglect across Ventura County. Our dedicated Humane Officers respond to these calls oftentimes not knowing what condition they are in. In many cases, the animals require emergency veterinary care that can be very expensive.

Such is the case of a horse that recently came under the shelter's care. Luckily, our Senior Humane Officer and Equine Specialist were on hand to rush the horse to an emergency vet. We are happy to report that the horse is now in stable condition, though it remained under the vet's care for further observation for several days.

Now we need your help! A vet stay of this length with such extensive emergency care totaled approximately $4800. As a private nonprofit, we do not receive any funding from the government or any other national animal welfare organization. We rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to help us provide proper care for these animals. Please consider visiting our website and donating so we can continue making a difference in the lives of so many animals in need. Please note that the animals in these photos are from previous cases and have since recovered and been adopted.
