Looking Back at 2025: A Year of Compassion, Community, and Lives Changed

As we reflect on 2025, we are filled with gratitude for the animals who placed their trust in us, the people who advocated for them, and the community that made our work possible. This year was defined not just by numbers, but by second chances, transformations, and moments of care that changed lives.

Over 680 animals under our care found their forever homes in 2025. Each adoption represents a life changed, a family formed, and a new beginning. Over 2,270 pounds of free pet food were distributed through our Pet Food Pantry and community outreach efforts. Families facing financial hardships were able to keep their pets fed and cared for, helping prevent unnecessary surrenders and keeping pets where they belong. More than 3,900 volunteer hours were served this year. From helping our Animal Care team and providing enrichment for the animals to attending events and offering administrative support, their dedication fuels every aspect of our mission.

Our Humane Officers responded to over 635 humane investigation calls. They worked diligently to investigate reports of abuse, neglect, and cruelty, ensuring vulnerable animals received protection and care. The Clinic team administered over 7,400 vaccines and performed over 2,750 spay/neuter surgeries. Through our low-cost vaccine clinics, we helped protect thousands of pets from preventable diseases, reduce pet overpopulation, lower shelter intake, and prevent future suffering. Preventive care plays a critical role in keeping pets healthy and communities strong.

More than 350 students were reached through our humane education program. Through school visits and on-site educational programs, HSVC helped foster empathy, responsibility, and respect for animals in the next generation. Nearly 400 animals were cared for in foster homes. Foster families provided healing, patience, and stability for animals who needed extra support, giving them the opportunity to recover, grow, and ultimately find permanent homes.

These victories would not be possible without the support of our community. Every adoption, donation, volunteer/foster, and shared post contributes to our vital work. The impact made in 2025 belongs to our entire community, and we are deeply thankful for the compassion and support that made it possible. As we move into 2026, we remain committed to protecting animals, supporting families, and building a more humane future together. Thank you for being a part of this mission!
