Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped with our Disaster Preparedness cleanup day at the Humane Society of Ventura County this past Sunday.

The Humane Society of Ventura County offers several services in the event of a disaster throughout Ventura County. One of which is to offer safe keeping of pets for families that have been evacuated due to a disaster. Our property is large enough to accommodate hundreds of animals but our kennel space is not.

Our volunteers helped clean, organize and assemble the scores of crates, carriers and temporary kennels we have on our property. In the event of an emergency, we can do intake with animals without having to scramble to find kennel space. We would rather have the facilities ready and not need them then be faced with an emergency and not be ready. With your help, we are now prepared!
