Ventura Marathon Expo was a Huge Success!

The Humane Society of Ventura County was happy to join the Ventura Marathon Expo on Saturday, February 26 with adoptable dog, Shiloh in Downtown Ventura! The HSVC is a proud and gracious charity partner of the Ventura Marathon since it began in 2013. Since then, the marathon has raised over $18,000 for our compassionate care shelter and $2,300 in 2022 alone!

Adoptable dog, Shiloh was the perfect Ambassador for the shelter, greeting runners, children, and other dogs with a big smile and a playful attitude. These events allow our adoptable dogs to get more exposure and give them extra special time with our staff and volunteers outside the shelter! Shiloh spent the day being doted on, playing with new toys, walking along Main Street, and even enjoying his first puppaccino from Starbucks!

No more than 30 minutes into the expo and California Natives, Michelle and Jerry fell in love with Shiloh and put in an application with fingers crossed. After lots of interest, we are excited to announce that this meet and greet was meant to be and a few short days later, Michelle and Jerry welcomed Shiloh into their family!

Along with Shiloh, we also offered kid’s crafts with our Humane Educator, Angie Sagliani, and free cat and dog food to those in need. Keep an eye out for us at future events, who knows, maybe you will find your next furry friend!
